Terms of Service

Last updated:

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are the agreement between you and Tee Willow, 100 Pleasant Court, Newport News, VA 23602, United States (“Tee Willow”, “we”, “us”), for your use of teewillow.com and any purchase you make from us. By using the site or placing an order, you agree to these Terms and to the policies they refer to, including our Shipping & Delivery, Returns & Exchanges, Refund and Privacy policies. We have tried to keep the language plain. Nothing in these Terms takes away rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived where you live.

Key points

  • Every item is printed to order after you buy it, usually in 1–3 business days, and shipped free to the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
  • Prices are in US dollars, and the full total is shown at checkout before you pay.
  • Every item can be returned within 60 days of delivery, with free return postage, and approved refunds reach you within 7 days.
  • You are responsible for the personalization text you ask us to print; we may refuse text that infringes someone’s rights or is hateful.
  • Our designs, photos and text belong to Tee Willow and may not be copied.
  • These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, USA.

1. Who can use the site

You may use the site to browse and to buy products for your personal, non-commercial use. To place an order, you must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, or have the permission and supervision of a parent or guardian who accepts these Terms. Buying our products to resell them in bulk is not permitted without our written agreement.

If you create an account, keep your login details private and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for activity on your account that you could reasonably have prevented.

2. Our products and how they are made

Tee Willow sells graphic and personalized apparel: T-shirts, crewneck sweatshirts and pullover hoodies. Each item is printed after you order it, on the garment, size and colour you choose. Because printing is done item by item, small variations are a normal part of the product and are not defects:

  • Colour: printed colours and garment colours can look slightly different from what you see on your screen, which depends on your device and its brightness settings.
  • Placement: the exact position of a print can vary slightly from one garment to another and from the product image.
  • Images: some product images are digital previews created to show the design on a garment; they are not photographs of the exact item you will receive.
  • Sizing: garments from different production runs can differ slightly in measurements. Our Size Guide explains how to choose a size.

A print that is smudged, cracked on arrival, clearly crooked, the wrong colour or different from the design you ordered is a defect, and it is covered by our Refund Policy.

3. Personalized products and the text you provide

Some products let you add your own text, such as names, dates, titles or pet names. When you submit personalization text, you confirm that:

  • you have the right to use it, and it does not infringe anyone’s trademark, copyright, right of publicity or other rights;
  • it is not hateful, harassing, threatening, obscene or discriminatory, does not promote violence or illegal activity, and does not defame anyone;
  • it does not include another person’s private information, such as a home address or phone number, without their permission;
  • you have checked the spelling, capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, because we print the text exactly as entered.

We may refuse or cancel an order, with a full refund, if personalization text does not meet these conditions. If we print text that differs from what you entered, that is our error and we reprint or refund it. If the text matches what you entered but contained a typo, you can still return the item within 60 days under our Returns & Exchanges Policy, and you can avoid the wait by contacting us within 24 hours of ordering so we can fix it before printing.

4. Prices and availability

All prices are in US dollars. Prices, designs, garment options and availability can change at any time before you place an order, but a change never affects an order that we have already confirmed. The item prices, any discount, shipping (which is free to our four delivery countries) and any applicable tax are shown at checkout before you pay.

If a product is listed at a price that is clearly wrong, for example because of a typing or technical error, or if a garment option becomes unavailable after you order, we contact you before printing. You can choose to continue at the correct price or with an alternative, or cancel and receive a full refund within 7 days.

5. Placing an order and when the contract is formed

When you place an order, you are making an offer to buy the items in your cart. We accept your offer, and a contract is formed, when we send you an order confirmation email. We may decline or cancel an order, and refund any payment in full, if we cannot verify the payment, if we suspect fraud, if the shipping address is outside our delivery area, if the personalization text breaks section 3, or if the order breaks these Terms in another way.

Please check your order carefully before you pay. You can cancel or change it free of charge within 24 hours, as long as printing has not started, as described in Cancel or Change an Order.

6. Payment

You agree to pay the total shown at checkout using one of the payment methods offered there and described on our Payment Methods page. Payments are processed by the payment provider shown at checkout; we do not receive or store full card numbers. You confirm that you are authorised to use the payment method you choose. If your payment fails, your order is not created and nothing is printed.

7. Shipping, delivery and risk

We deliver to the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, with free shipping and the estimated timeframes set out in our Shipping & Delivery policy: 1–3 business days for printing and usually 7–14 business days for transit. Delivery dates are estimates, not guarantees. We are responsible for your order until it is delivered to the address you gave us. If a parcel is lost or arrives damaged, we replace it or refund it as that policy describes.

Orders to Canada, Australia and New Zealand are shipped from the USA and may be subject to import duties, taxes or customs fees charged by the destination country. These are not part of our prices and, where they apply, are payable by the recipient to the carrier or customs authority.

8. Returns, refunds and cancellations

You can return or exchange any product within 60 days of delivery for any reason, and we pay the return postage. Refunds reach your original payment method within 7 days after your return is received and approved. You can cancel or change an order within 24 hours of placing it, before printing starts. The full details are in our Returns & Exchanges Policy, Refund Policy and Cancel or Change an Order page. Those policies form part of these Terms, and where they give you more rights than a sentence here, the policy applies.

9. Discount codes and promotions

Discount codes and promotions apply only as described in their own terms, have no cash value, cannot be transferred for value and usually cannot be combined unless stated. We may end a promotion at any time, but ending it never affects an order already confirmed. Store credit issued for a return can be used at checkout like a discount code. We may cancel a discount that was obtained through fraud or an obvious error.

10. Group, family and larger orders

Family reunions, team events, classrooms and clubs often order many shirts at once. Group orders are welcome on the same terms as any other order, with these practical points:

  • Each item in a group order is printed individually, so a large order may ship in more than one parcel, and parcels may arrive on different days.
  • The person who places and pays for the order is our customer for that order. We discuss cancellations, changes and refunds with that person, although we are happy to arrange exchanges directly with individual recipients after delivery.
  • Individual items from a group order can be returned or exchanged on their own within 60 days; you do not need to send the whole order back.
  • Orders intended for resale need our written agreement first. For very large personal or event orders, please email us before ordering so we can confirm the printing timeline for your date.

11. Gift orders

You can send an order directly to someone else at any address in our four delivery countries. The person who paid remains the customer for the order. The recipient can exchange items within 60 days of delivery using the order number, and we will not disclose the price to them. Refunds for returned gifts go to the original payment method unless the buyer asks for store credit to be given to the recipient.

12. Care, wear and how prints age

Printed apparel needs a little care to look its best. Washing inside out in cold water, avoiding bleach and fabric softener, and drying on low heat or on a line all help prints and fabrics last longer. Like any printed garment, prints soften and may fade gradually with repeated washing, tumble drying on high heat and ironing directly over the design. That gradual, normal wear is not a defect. A print that peels, cracks or fades badly after only a few washes when cared for as recommended is a defect, and you can contact us about it within 60 days of delivery.

13. Electronic communications

By placing an order, you agree that we may send you order confirmations, shipping notices, receipts and other information about your order by email, and that these electronic messages satisfy any legal requirement that such communications be in writing. These are service messages and are separate from any marketing emails, which we only send with your consent.

14. Reviews, photos and other content you submit

If reviews are enabled and you submit a review, photo or other content, it must be honest, based on your own experience, lawful and your own work. You must not post fake reviews or reviews written in exchange for undisclosed payment. You keep ownership of your content, and you give Tee Willow a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display it on the site and in our own marketing, with credit where appropriate. You can ask us to remove your content at any time. We may remove content that is misleading, offensive, unrelated to the product, or infringes someone else’s rights.

15. Intellectual property

The Tee Willow name and logo, our original designs and illustrations, product images, product descriptions, page text, layout and code are owned by Tee Willow or used under licence, and are protected by copyright, trademark and other intellectual property laws. Buying a product gives you ownership of that physical garment; it does not give you any right to reproduce the design. You may not copy, reproduce, sell or create products from our designs or images without our written permission. Our Intellectual Property Policy and DMCA page explain permitted use and how to report infringement.

16. Acceptable use of the site

You must not misuse the site. In particular, you must not:

  • try to gain unauthorised access to the site, its servers, accounts or databases, or test their security without permission;
  • introduce viruses, malicious code or anything that disrupts the site for other customers;
  • scrape, crawl or copy the site with automated tools, other than normal search engine indexing that respects our robots.txt;
  • place fraudulent orders, use stolen payment details or abuse our return process;
  • impersonate another person or misrepresent your connection with anyone;
  • use the site for any unlawful purpose.

We may suspend or close accounts and cancel orders, with a refund of any unfulfilled payment, if these rules are broken.

17. Feedback and ideas

We love hearing design ideas from customers: a hobby we have not covered, a holiday we missed, a pet breed people keep asking for. If you send us an idea or suggestion, you agree that we may use it freely, without payment or credit, to create new designs. We will never publish your name or personal details alongside an idea without your permission. If you have created original artwork that you want to license to us, please tell us that clearly before sharing it so we can agree terms first.

18. Links to other sites

The site may link to carrier tracking pages, the payment provider’s checkout and other third-party websites. Those sites are not controlled by us, and their own terms and privacy policies apply. A link does not mean we endorse the site.

19. Site availability and changes

We work to keep the site available, accurate and secure, but we cannot promise it will always be available, error-free or free of interruptions, for example during maintenance or because of problems with our hosting or network providers. We may change, suspend or remove parts of the site, designs or products at any time. If a change affects an order you have already placed, we contact you and offer a full refund if you do not want to continue.

20. Disclaimers

Except for the commitments we make in these Terms and our policies, and except for any warranties that cannot be excluded by law, the site and its content are provided “as is”. Our products are casual apparel. They are not protective clothing and are not designed for safety, medical, sports-performance or flame-resistant use.

21. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Tee Willow is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, such as loss of profits or loss of opportunity, arising from your use of the site or our products, and our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. These limits do not apply to liability that cannot legally be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for breach of mandatory consumer guarantees such as those under the Australian Consumer Law or the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act. They do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

22. Indemnity

If you break these Terms, for example by submitting personalization text that infringes someone else’s trademark or copyright, you agree to cover reasonable losses, claims and costs that Tee Willow suffers as a direct result, to the extent permitted by law. This does not apply where the loss was caused by our own fault.

23. Governing law and disputes

These Terms and any dispute arising from them or from your purchase are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer living in Canada, Australia or New Zealand, you also keep the protection of any mandatory consumer laws of your home country or province, and nothing here prevents you from bringing a claim where those laws allow.

If you have a problem with an order, please email us first at support@teewillow.com. Most issues are resolved within a few days by email. If we cannot resolve a dispute informally within 30 days, either of us may bring it before the courts with jurisdiction in Virginia, or, for consumers, before the courts or consumer bodies available to you where you live.

24. General terms

  • Entire agreement: these Terms and the policies they refer to are the whole agreement between you and us about your use of the site and your purchases.
  • Severability: if any part of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
  • No waiver: if we do not enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later.
  • Transfer: we may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms to another business that takes over the store, and we will tell you if that happens; your rights under these Terms will not be reduced.
  • Events outside our control: we are not responsible for delays caused by events we cannot reasonably control, such as severe weather, natural disasters, strikes or carrier network failures, but we will tell you about the delay and you may cancel any affected order that has not shipped for a full refund.

25. Closing your account

You can close your account at any time by emailing us; your past orders stay covered by these Terms and our policies, including the 60-day return window. We may suspend or close an account that has been used for fraud, abuse of the returns process, harassment of our team or other serious breaches of these Terms. If we do, we tell you why by email, and any order that has been paid for but not yet printed is either fulfilled or refunded in full. Closing an account does not remove order records that we must keep by law, as explained in our Privacy Policy.

26. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when our services, our policies or the law change. The version published when you place an order applies to that order. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when the Terms last changed.
